Quavo & Destroy Lonely Unite For “Potato Loaded”

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

It’s hard to believe that Quavo and Destroy Lonely both hail from Atlanta, Georgia. Their wardrobes, swagger, and musical styles are completely different. The only thing the two rappers have in common is Southern accents. The good news is this, though: Sometimes oil and water mix. Today, a new collaboration with Quavo and Destroy Lonely, “Potato Loaded,” hit streaming services.

I would call “Potato Loaded” a very successful collaboration. The chemistry between Quavo and Destroy Lonely is evident as they seamlessly trade bars over an uptempo, action-packed beat. As for lyrically, they’re completely aligned in their themes of confronting adversaries, flaunting their success, and leaving a trail of broken hearts. Quavo’s delivery exudes a robotic swag, while Destroy Lonely brings a scratchy intensity, reminiscent of someone recovering from a cold and ready to go back outside.

This song sounds like an intro. Maybe Quavo and Destroy Lonely will release a full-blown collaboration album for us soon. Hmm…
