Chief Keef Drops “Drifting Away” From “Almighty So 2”

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Can you believe it’s been almost twelve years since Chief Keef dropped his debut album Finally Rich. At the time, I would’ve never guessed that he would become such an endearing figure in the hip-hop game. Fast forward to today, and he’s still an artist people get really excited about. After dropping what I believe is an extremely solid project with Mike WiLL Made-It called DIRTY NACHOS just two months ago, the Chicago legend will release another album tonight called Almighty So 2. The first single from the project is the multi-layered “Drifting Away.”

In “Drifting Away,” we get a confident Chief Keef. His verses are filled with boasts about his luxurious cars, dominance over women, and readiness to resort to violence for any disrespect. He also takes a shot at Kanye West for claiming to have created drill music. The track features smooth yet powerful production, complemented by a hypnotic vocal contribution from an unidentified female singer. Overall, the song’s vibes are all over the place.

Damn, after all these years, Chief Keef is only 28!
