Space Semaj Shoots 100% In “Backboard”

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

Spade Semaj called “bank.”

Spade Semaj is the ultimate explorer. This Florida-based rapper hails from Orange County, California, but has traveled and lived everywhere from Ohio to New Jersey. I believe this diverse background influences his music, which is as varied as his travel history. Spade masterfully blends multiple genres, creating a plethora of infectious tracks. His latest, “Backboard,” is one of the catchiest songs of the year.

Spade Semaj believes you miss every shot you don’t take, so he’s taking plenty. In “Backboard,” he talks about shooting his shot with a girl who is already taken, indulging in her explicit moves. He also mentions his frequent hardcore partying, which probably involves shot-taking. What I love is how Spade hits us with highly infectious melodic raps that layer perfectly on top of the track’s booming, alluring production. All in all, I think this track is a certified banger.
