Muni Long Shines In “Make Me Forget”

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

Muni Long can sing her butt off.

Why has no one ever mentioned that Muni Long is one of the hardest names in the music industry? I mean, seriously, I wish my money was long. Besides that, she consistently delivers high-quality traditional R&B records.

Muni Long’s biggest hit to date is “Made For Me,” which has racked up a ridiculous amount of streams. This weekend, she returned to the music scene with another impressive effort: “Make Me Forget.”

In “Make Me Forget,” Muni Long makes it clear what kind of man she wants in her life: an alpha who knows when to walk away during fights and can make her forget the bulls**t she’s been through in the past. She also emphasizes how important trust is to her.

“Make Me Forget” has a church-like R&B sound designed to make you close your eyes and whisper, “Amen!” Though I wouldn’t call the song religious by any means, when Muni Long breaks down her wants and needs with her powerful vocals, I guarantee you’ll scream, “Preach!”
