LL Cool J Returns With “Saturday Night Special” With Rick Ross & Fat Joe

Rating: 4 out of 5.

LL Cool J’s name doesn’t even sound right in 2024.

You young whipper snappers probably don’t know how great LL Cool J was. In his prime, he was creating timeless love songs and knocking n***as out. Does it get better than that?

While we haven’t gotten much new music from LL Cool J these past few years, apparently, he hasn’t retired just yet. Today, he returned to the music scene with a new single called “Saturday Night Special” with Rick Ross and Fat Joe.

LL Cool J’s verse in this track is exceptional. In it, he vividly explains the caution required when dealing with a hustler, highlighting their usual quick tempers and propensity for violence. Rick Ross, aka Ravoli, delivers a smooth verse reminiscent of his Port Of Miami days. Fat Joe closes the track with an explosive verse, boasting about his achievements, including his past in drug dealing and his influence on Kanye West. The only aspect of this track that falls short for me is the Q-tip hook.

LL is back! Hide your women and dumbbells.
