Trent Vine Keeps It Real In “Wasting My Time”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Trent Vine has done it again.

I love Trent Vine’s self-description as a New Wave pop artist who blends his Australian and Japanese backgrounds to craft genuinely distinctive music. He’s also committed to sharing his truths and offering authentic perspectives on the everyday experiences we all encounter.

I first discovered Trent Vine when I reviewed his single “Weed and Caviar,” which I gave a glowing five-star rating. Now, Trent is back with another fantastic single titled “Wasting My Time,” which has also captured my admiration.

“Wasting My Time” pulsates with a high-octane Jersey club dance-pop beat, featuring striking piano notes and bass so powerful it will make it feel like your phone is vibrating while you’re listening to the track. Trent complements this with edgy, sometimes computerized vocals that lend a confrontational edge to his lyrics, as if directed towards a machine incapable of forming a genuine connection with him. Sidenote: How dope will it be in 2076 when humans fall in love with machines?
