6LACK Says “Fuck The Rap Game”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Do y’all consider 6LACK a rapper?

You should’ve been there when 6LACK was on top of the world. The year was 2018, people weren’t wearing masks just yet, and the NBA Finals were still entertaining. Though 6LACK hasn’t been able to capture my attention as much since then, he’s talented enough to make me check for him anytime he releases something.

Today, 6LACK released a new single called “F**k The Rap Game.” It’s technically his first solo release of the year.

In “F**k The Rap Game,” 6LACK bares his soul, reflecting on his humble beginnings, his aversion to industry politics, and his commitment to staying true to his roots in Atlanta. Despite the challenges, he remains financially secure, allowing him to speak his truth without compromise.

No one straddles the line between rapper and singer better than 6LACK. In “F**k The Rap Game,” I feel like he hits us with killer rap flows, but at the same time, he employs this soothing style that is synonymous with singing. Also, the production has this lethargic, unorthodox, bluesy R&B sound that I don’t think many rappers would f**k with.

Have you considered entering the IT world, 6LACK? It’s just as bad.
