Asake & Central Cee Link Up For “Wave”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Central Cee is good in Abuja.

Asake and Central Cee are buzzing bigger than the insects in Texas right now. Asake has been delivering highly infectious Afrobeat jams, while Cee has been dropping explosive UK drill bangers. Recently, the two artists teamed up for a new single called “Wave.”

Central Cee enters Asake’s world in “Wave” and succeeds. Over this uptempo, erratic Afrobeats beat, the “Doja” rapper hits us with confident bars that speak on his ability to spoil women with lavish things and his mindset regarding fame. As for Asake, he delivers a vocal performance that aligns perfectly with the song’s vibes and rhythm. But let’s be real: the best part of this song is clearly the choir you hear in the chorus. That pierced my soul.

I’m so jealous of the UK’s connection to Nigeria.
