Apparently, “Roses” is about Kylie Jenner.
At one point, I was so high on Jaden Smith’s music that I couldn’t drive home. Not only was he backed by some of the coolest artists in the game, but he also raps well, has a great singing voice, and has a knack for creating unique tunes.
To say Jaden has been quiet these past couple of years is an understatement. His last solo effort was CTV3: Day Trippers Edition in 2021. However, he returned to the music scene with a new single called “Roses” on Friday.
In “Roses,” Jaden sounds smitten with love. He talks about leaving roses at someone’s door, Romeo-style, and wanting company in his bedroom. He also alludes to his past relationship with Kylie Jenner, saying he’s happy for her but wishes their relationship had been fluffier.
“Roses” is a very serene track. It features pleasant instrumentation, soothing vocals, and a pretty cool rap part.
