Roddy Ricch Sounds Smooth In “911”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

The streets are saying Roddy Ricch is back.

After enduring a turbulent past couple of years, Roddy Ricch is having an extravagant 2024. Not only did he drop one of the best comeback singles in a long time in “Survivor’s Remorse,” but he also received some flowers for his performance at Kendrick Lamar’s “Pop Out” concert.

Roddy is back with yet another single: “911.” While it’s not as good as his last release, it will likely do serious numbers (Do you like what I did there?).

In “911,” Roddy Ricch comes across as a smooth player who happens to run into the girl of his dreams. Now that he has her in his bag, he’s ready to spoil her, flip her like drug money, and have her on call like an emergency unit. The number one thing that comes to mind about the track is its similarity to Roddy’s other hits such as “Ballin” and “High Fashion” (they have similar vibes). I also find it interesting that he hits us with a pretty daring vocal performance and some unapologetic hood-romantic lyrics (Roddy is swinging for the fences). All in all, this might be the track that really puts Roddy back on the map.

911 doesn’t come to the hood, so Roddy must live somewhere exquisite.
