Some of the dates missed will be rescheduled.
Legendary American rock artist Neil Young is, unfortunately, not ready to rock this week. Neil Young and the rest of his group, Crazy Horse, had to cancel the remainder of their “The Love Earth Tour,” the first in over a decade, due to illness. Young didn’t specify who among the group is ill or what illness they are currently battling.
The group posted on their website: “When a couple of us got sick after Detroit’s Pine Knob, we had to stop. We are still not fully recovered, so sadly, our great tour will have a big unplanned break. We will try to play some of the dates we missed as time passes when we are ready to rock again!”
The upcoming show at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre in Greenwood Village, CO, has been canceled according to AXS, alongside all other shows, including Hollywood Bowl and Ohana Fest. Fans are being emailed about refunds. It’s pretty annoying whenever a show gets canceled, but to quote Young himself: “Thanks for your understanding and patience. Health is #1.”
Neil Young isn’t the only artist recently to cancel a tour due to illness; in the last few days, Pearl Jam and Willie Nelson also canceled dates in London and Virginia Beach, respectively. I give my best wishes to all artists who are currently recovering.
Although the group is ill, that doesn’t stop Young fans from getting some action with the recent release of “EARLY DAZE,” a companion to his classic “Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere” album. Released this Friday, the album is a historic collection of early recordings from the late 1960s, showcasing the band’s unique original style.
