Lil Tjay Returns WIth “No No”

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Lil Tjay’s new single is on brand.

Lil Tjay’s career has had its ups and downs. At one point, I thought he was the next big thing based on some major singles he dropped and key collaborations he was part of. After being shot, his trajectory took a hit. Now, he’s back on track and ready to close out the year strong.

Today, Tjay dropped a new single called “No No.” This is a follow-up to his popular “Told Ya” single.

In “No No,” Lil Tjay talks about the people who have changed around him, basking in being alone, and overcoming people’s negative thoughts about him. While I am not a fan of how whiny Lil Tjay’s vocals sound for a good majority of the track (He legit sounds like he was picking at his scabs while laying down his verse), at the end of the day, his melodies will catch your attention and the piano-driven, uptempo beat (that strangely has these island elements to it) will have you nodding your head.

Lil Tjay’ goes into the booth ‘s engineer clearly cuts onions while he’s in the booth.
