The newcomer shows she’s got serious skills!
Taken from her debut EP 13:7, Baby J’s “Run Like Crazy” is certainly a hidden gem that I think should be given a chance.
Firstly, the Miami-based artist does a great job with the lyrics, drawing the listener in with a theme of self-exploration and leaving the past behind, running like crazy towards better new horizons.
Baby J also does a wonderful job with her vocal performance. Her voice is warm and genuine, complemented by calm instrumentation. I could fall asleep to this song, but I don’t mean that in a bad way at all; it’s very soothing.
This song could also serve as a reflection of Baby J herself—an artist running like crazy toward a new, optimistic journey as an up-and-coming talent. This track, and the other ones from her project, are great examples of her blossoming future.
