Larry June Says He Moves “Like a Mack”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

“Like A Pimp” and “Like A Mack” are recreating the SpiderMan meme.

Larry June is such a refreshing artist to listen to. In a world full of Kamala Harris jokes, borderline Team USA losses, and Chipotles with sweet red sauce, Larry provides calm. In other words, you’re rarely going to speed him up or make him dive nose-deep into some jit s**t.

This year, Larry June has adropped four singles: “Imported Couches,” “Meet Me In NAPA,” “Dreams,” and his latest single, “Like A Mack.”

So, I said you can’t speed up Larry June in the first paragraph; I kind of take that back. “Like A Mack” boasts a quick-paced beat that features a nice guitar loop. Larry keeps up with the beat, delivering his raps about his drug-dealing past, pimping skills, and collection of guns with a steady pace. For those of y’all who are fans of his chill demeanor, don’t worry—he still flaunts it. Throughout the track, he sounds like a guy who just finished playing three pickup games.

Larry June treats hip-hop like a 9-5, and I love that.
