Young Nudy Goes All Out on Metro Boomin-Produced “John Wayne”

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

I really believe Young Nudy will shoot you if Young Metro doesn’t trust you.

Here’s a wild comparison for you: Just like Goya beans are shelved in their own section of the grocery store, separate from other beans despite their similarities, that’s how I see Young Nudy in the hip-hop world.

Though Nudy drops trap music like many of his peers, he seems to operate on a different wavelength. He doesn’t follow the typical Friday morning album release pattern and often flies under the radar when it comes to discussions about top trap rappers. Yet, his impressive numbers and collaborations with beloved artists speak volumes about his influence and unique presence in the scene.

Today, Nudy makes his return to the music scene with a new single titled “John Wayne,” produced by Metro Boomin. This marks his first official release of the year.

I came in this bitch like I’m John Wayne
(Yeah), two guns on my side
I’m ready to slang somethin’ (Slang somethin’)

Of course, “John Wayne” is about guns — wasn’t that what he was all about? With a menacing trap beat that evokes Western gunfight imagery, Young Nudy raps about his gleaming firearm, ski masks, and shooting more often than Anthony Edwards. To make a long story short, he comes across as demented. Nudy maintains a steady flow and delivers a rowdy chorus while his second verse takes on an unexpectedly subdued tone.

Does Young Nudy have one with “John Wayne?” B*tch, he just might. Go ahead and press play on the track below. Also, let us know what you think of the Metro Boomin beat in the comments section.
