Recently, I came across a Tweet that pointed out how the hate toward Drake has gotten out of hand, and I completely agree. Whether or not you think Kendrick Lamar came out on top in their rap battle earlier this year, let’s not pretend that Drake isn’t a force to be reckoned with on the mic or that he’s not black. Whatever the case may be, I think this beef has Drake moving differently, and I’m all for it.

Drake and Benny The Butcher kill s**t in “Escalate Quickly.” Over an emotional beat that never fully gets started, Drake drops a lengthy verse showcasing a sharp, fast-paced flow that’s nearly impossible to match. His lyrics touch on themes like keeping his inner circle tight, attending power lunches, and navigating the complexities of social media. Even without much effort, Drake delivers pure gold.
Benny The Butcher follows suit, matching Drake’s flow and delivering powerful lyrics highlighting his influential connections and meetings with the greats. Benny also utilizes an abominable flow.
