Coco Jones Returns With “Sweep It Up”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Coco Jones has a little bit of fun here.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: The female R&B genre is stacked. From Summer Walker to SZA to Jhene, there’s no shortage of incredible artists to love. One artist I believe can sneak into that elite list is Coco Jones. Despite already winning a Grammy for “ICU,” she has yet to release her debut album. Once that drops, I’m confident she’s going to take off.

Last Friday, Coco Jones returned to the music scene with a new track titled “Sweep It Up.”

In “Sweep It Up,” Coco Jones warns her lover: if he doesn’t get his act together, she’s ready to skidaddle out of the relationship. While Coco’s previous tracks often lean into strong soulful elements, this one takes a more playful turn, featuring a colorful London On Da Beat beat filled with snaps and a lighthearted vibe. Despite the change in tone, Coco’s vocals remain as crisp and spirited as ever, making the track a quality and fun listen.

If Coco Jones can continue making tracks like this, she will become a superstar.
