A fantastic comeback track.
There are certain music acts that everyone loves; Coldplay is one of those acts. Flaunting almost ten tracks with over one billion streams on Spotify, they have simply been some of the most popular musicians this decade.
Unfortunately, Coldplay doesn’t drop albums very often. The last one came out in 2021. While I can’t confirm they will be releasing another one this year, they did return to the music scene with a new single called “WE PRAY.” It features Little Simz, Burna Boy, Elyanna, and TINI.
This track is two things: dynamic and uplifting. “WE PRAY” features a dramatic, frenzied instrumental that still manages to exude a calming vibe. Against this backdrop, we get invigorating contributions from Chris Martin, Burna Boy, and Little Simz. Martin and Burna Boy deliver mesmerizing vocal performances that seep into your soul, while Simz adds some punchy hip-hop flair to the mix. When Elyanna and TINI swoop in, the track turns into a full-on emotional experience that you’ll want to play on repeat.
This could very well be my favorite track of the year.
