Chance The Rapper Drops “3333”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Chance The Rapper’s comeback tour continues.

With all this talk about the big 3s, it’s frustrating that Chance The Rapper’s name isn’t even in the conversation anymore. These days, if I were to suggest he was once considered part of that group, people might think I’m out of my mind. Unfortunately, one misstep (a.k.a. The Big Day) derailed his trajectory, and now he’s struggling to stay relevant.

That said, I’ve actually enjoyed hearing him in this underdog role. His recent singles have brought some hard-hitting bars and impressive rap styles. His latest track, “3333,” keeps that momentum going.

I just love how lively and sunny “3333” sounds. The track is backed by exuberant horns, a nice tempo, and cool vibes that perfectly complement Chance The Rapper’s bars about his musical journey, in which he recalls the early days when only a few people showed up to his shows. Now, he’s filling venues, like the Minnesota State Fair. As expected, Chance delivers an animated and carefree performance with a touch of singing, and we also get some soulful vocals from an unnamed woman.

As much as y’all want to say that Chance The Rapper fell off, he still moves the needle more than a bunch of your favorite rappers.
