Drake Floats In “Circadian Rhythm”

Rating: 5 out of 5.

“Circadian Rhythm” is also called “The Language 2” in select countries.

It’s safe to say that Drake’s reputation took a bit of a hit after the release of “Not Like Us.” Now, he’s taking an unconventional approach to bounce back—dropping new tracks on Instagram and Twitter first, testing the waters, and if they resonate with fans, eventually adding them to streaming platforms.

On Saturday, Drake officially dropped two new tracks on Spotify that have been making waves on social media over the past few days: “Circadian Rhythm” and “No Face.” Below, I’ll dive into the former.

“Circadian Rhythm” features a soulful beat with a steady tempo that’ll have you making a stank face and shaking your head side to side like you’re telling your kid “no.” Over it, Drake brings out his signature herky-jerky melodic rap style. Lyrically, he calls out those who can’t keep up with him and who’ve tried to bring him down. All in all, I enjoy the song’s hook a lot and the smooth s**t-talking Drake does throughout.

Get used to Drake saying he’s the s**t and cannot be flushed for the next few months. It’s his way of coping with losses.
