Linkin Park Counts Back Up After Mysterious Countdown

100 hours and counting on sheer confusion!

On Saturday, Linkin Park started a 100-hour countdown on their website, hinting at a significant announcement. Fans are speculating that it could involve the introduction of a new lead vocalist to replace the late Chester Bennington. However, once the countdown reached zero, it reset to 100 hours, leaving fans puzzled. The new announcement date is now set for September 5th, with the band inviting fans to “be part of something.”

“Every time you guess the new Linkin Park singer incorrectly, another 100 hours gets added to the timer,” a fan joked on X (formerly Twitter). An account named “crazy ass moments in nu metal history” added, “Maybe the real Linkin Park was the friends we made along the way.”

Though I was initially a bit frustrated when the clock reset, I find the humor in it and think it’s pretty funny. I’m speculating that this might be a big return for Linkin Park with a new vocalist, but even if it turns out differently, I’m just excited to see them active again in some capacity.
