Juice WRLD’s Estate Releases “World Tour (Aquafina)” and “Lightyears”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

If I had to guess, Juice WRLD’s estate is sitting on thousands of unreleased tracks.

Even though it’s been five years since we tragically lost Juice WRLD, new music from him continues to surface through unreleased tracks. In 2022, his estate released the album Fighting Demons, and in 2020, we received Legends Never Die. Now, another posthumous album is on the way. To build anticipation, Juice WRLD’s estate has dropped two new singles: “World Tour (Aquafina)” and “Lightyears.”

“World Tour (Aquafina)” is an easygoing party track where Juice WRLD talks about doing ungodly things with someone’s girl, taking multiple drugs, and walking around with more 40s than Usher. Backed by a bouncy, slightly dramatic beat, Juice WRLD delivers his verses with a carefree, loose approach, making it feel like he was simply having fun while putting the track together. He was so talented that he could afford to do that and still make it work.

“Lightyears” takes on a much more serious tone compared to “World Tour (Aquafina),” even though it features the often zany Young Thug. In this track, Juice WRLD and Thug discuss darker topics like dealing with demons, being self-made, coming up from nothing, and getting into altercations. Interestingly, while their lyrics carry a certain level of bravado, the overall tone of the song is somber. The production leans into melancholic vibes, and both Juice WRLD and Young Thug deliver punchy performances. Overall, I think the track is enjoyable.
