A compelling reggae tune that delivers a powerful message about the state of the world.
DMac Burns is a captivating duo consisting of Danny McDonald, a singer-songwriter from New York City, and Matías Saldivia, a keyboardist and dub specialist from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Their unique sound blends elements of reggae, dub, R&B, indie rock, and more into emotionally rich, lyrically-driven songs. Originally, DMac Burns started as a solo project by McDonald, but the two artists met in Cork, Ireland, in 2022, where they connected over being “city boys living in rural Ireland” and their mutual love for roots reggae and dub. Over the following year and a half, they focused on writing, recording, and perfecting a live set that incorporates various styles, all anchored by a foundation of dub reggae. DMac Burns’s latest release is the reggae single “Silent Prayer.”
With its soothing mix of laid-back instrumentals and infectious rhythms, “Silent Prayer” offers a refreshing blend of reggae and indie rock that exudes feel-good, summery vibes. The lyrics—such as “All eyes on all of us, the serpent wails, Hard to be real when you’re seen” and “It’s a violent world that we all must share, The weight of hate and suffering’s too much to bear”—capture the struggles of today’s world while expressing a yearning to transform nightmares into something better. Driven by its sweet genre fusion and thought-provoking lyrics, DMac Burns delivers a powerful message of hope with this compelling reggae track. Press play to let “Silent Prayer” inspire you to strive for positive change.
