A$AP Ferg Freestyles To “Song Cry”

ASAP Ferg is embracing a completely new lifestyle these days.

This past Friday, A$AP Ferg (Who in select cities is simply going by Ferg) dropped a brand new album called DARNOLD. One of the things that surprised me about it was how many tracks it had that featured introspection. Don’t get me wrong, he still had his moments in which he yelled like a crazy man, but a bunch of the tracks featured him talking about disliking fame and changing his mindset to be healthier.

Proving that this new version might not be a phase, Ferg decided to release a freestyle to Jay-Z’s iconic “Song Cry.” Throughout it, he doubles down on being in a new state of mind and caring less about the materialistic things that come with being a rap star.

Ferg is sounding more and more like Big Sean, who focused a lot on growth on his last album Better You Than Me. Though I am always a fan for self-reflecting and self-improvement, I do wish Ferg flowed a little better…
