Jack Harlow Returns With “Hello Miss Johnson”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

I wish Jack called himself Vanilla on this song.

Jack Harlow doesn’t release music very often these days. In fact, his last major project dropped back in 2023. Considering everything that’s happened since then—like Kendrick and Drake’s feud, Trump’s return to the presidency, and Dalton Knecht emerging as the Lakers’ star player—that feels like a lifetime ago. Fortunately, Jack is back with a fresh single titled “Hello Miss Johnson,” and it’s unlike anything he’s done before.

In “Hello Miss Johnson,” Jack Harlow expresses his admiration and infatuation for the daughter of a woman named Miss Johnson. Through heartfelt lyrics, he reveals that he thinks about her constantly, is ready to whisk her away overseas, and believes she deserves to be placed on a pedestal. The music video hints at Miss Johnson’s heritage, suggesting she might be Italian, Spanish, or Romanian—possibly even sharing a lineage with someone like Dua Lipa.

While the lyrics of “Hello Miss Johnson” might not leave you in awe, its setup certainly will. Jack Harlow shines over a bossa nova beat that evokes the cozy vibe of rainy days and warm lattes. His delivery is effortless, blending his trademark charm, sly lines, and subtle punchlines into a smooth, captivating delivery.

I’m sorry, Miss Johnson… OOOH!
