Mac Miller’s “BALLOONERISM” Gets Official Release Date

We will be getting new music from Mac Miller very soon.

It’s hard to believe that it’s been five years since we tragically lost Mac Miller. His music was always so ahead of its time, and even today, it feels like it could be released in the current music scene. Unfortunately, just when Mac was hitting his stride and evolving as an artist, we lost him far too soon.

What’s beautiful about music is that artists continue to live on through their unreleased tracks. After the tragic deaths of Tupac, The Notorious B.I.G., Juice WRLD, and many others, we’ve still been able to hear their voices on posthumous albums. Now, Mac Miller fans are in for a treat with the announcement of a new album from him next year, titled BALLONERISM. Today, the official trailer for the album dropped on streaming services, giving us a glimpse of what’s to come.

The 2:45 trailer features an AI-generated cartoon that blends various fairy tale elements and characters. The background music has a captivating build-up, eventually evolving into a sound that longtime Mac Miller fans will surely appreciate. Toward the end, we’re treated to a jazz-hop snippet of a track that will likely appear on the album.

I’m not sure what direction the music on BALLOONERISM will take, but if I had to guess, it will likely follow the vibe of his previous project. Either way, I’m excited to hear some new music from the late rapper.
