Kendrick Lamar Secures a Hot 100 #1 Hit with a Track from “GNX”

Kendrick Lamar’s “GNX” album is doing extremely well.

I think we were all caught off guard when Kendrick Lamar’s GNX album dropped on streaming platforms Friday afternoon. Honestly, at first, I thought it might be a Lost Tapes project. But as it began to sink in and the reactions started flooding in, it became clear—this was the real deal.

While several tracks from GNX are quickly becoming fan favorites, one seems poised to dominate the Billboard Hot 100: “squabble up.” If you remember, this track was teased in the “Not Like Us” video. Now that the full version is out, listeners are clearly loving it.

In my review of GNX, I didn’t rank “squabble up” among the top five tracks on the album. That said, I can absolutely see why it resonates with people—it’s packed with Cali energy and sets the tone for the project right out of the gate. Still, if we’re talking about straight-up impact, I think “tv now” would whoop it in a bar fight. What do I know, though?

What’s your favorite track from “GNX?” Let us know in the comments section below.
