The rain didn’t stop Kylie Minogue, Jennifer Hudson, and more
“Rain or shine, you have to get out there,” said Jimmy Fallon as he opened up the 2024 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, the 98th one ever held.
Despite the rainy weather, it was still a lovely day for both the balloons and musical performances. Billy Porter was first, opening up the show with a cover of “Ease on Down the Road” from The Wiz. Kylie Minogue performed her hits “Padam Padam” and “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” as well.
Wicked star Idina Menzel joined in the fun too, performing “Great Escape” from her musical Redwood. T-Pain was also there with a medley of various hits, and Jimmy Fallon himself performed his original song “Hey Rudy” from his upcoming Christmas album.
Jennifer Hudson closed out the show and helped transition Thanksgiving to Christmas, performing songs from The Gift of Love, her debut Christmas album. “You ain’t heard no ‘Jingle Bells’ like this,” she teased the audience.
Of course, these weren’t all the performances, but they were all a major highlight of the whole event.
