The Grammy winner has earned a new win in a new category!
The last article I wrote here discussed country music singer Oliver Anthony’s dislike of Beyoncé’s newest album. In a video posted on social media, Anthony called the album “complete trash,” expressing particular disdain for her cover of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene.” However, it seems that someone who disagrees with him is the Billboard Music Awards, which recently honored the Grammy winner with the award for Top Country Female Artist.
.@Beyonce has won "Top Country Female Artist" at the #BBMAs.

While this is not Beyoncé’s first win at the Billboard Music Awards (it marks her 17th award overall), it is her first win in the country music category. She was also nominated in several other country-related categories, including Best Country Album, Best Country Group Performance, Best Country Song, Best Country Solo Performance, and Best Americana Performance.
It’s not all good news for the Houston native, though. Beyoncé was neither recognized nor nominated at the Country Music Association Awards. Still, a win is a win, and it’s commendable that Beyoncé is attempting to break into a new genre. While she certainly has her critics, it’s always worth exploring new artistic directions, and it seems people are responding positively. Our very own Quincy praised the album, stating: “With the release of COWBOY CARTER, Beyoncé demonstrates that genre boundaries are irrelevant when it comes to success in music. Instead, your ability to study and embrace diverse genres, infuse them with your own unique style, and deliver exceptional vocal performances is all that matters.”
