Have you noticed what Tory Lanez has been accomplishing while behind bars?
Behind Kendrick Lamar and Future, one could argue that Tory Lanez had one of the best years in 2024. While that might sound surprising to some, I’ve been reviewing two or more of his singles each week, and most of them have been straight fire. Granted, many of them are older tracks, but they’ve still kept his name buzzing. Today, Tory reached another major milestone: He laid down a verse on DDG’s new single “HANDLING BUSINESS”—all from a jail phone.
In “HANDLING BUSINESS,” DDG makes it clear that his critics don’t faze him one bit, as he flexes about his wealth, women, and the fun he’s having. Tory Lanez, on the other hand, reflects on the money still in his bank account, the lessons he’s learned during his time in prison, his readiness for any beef, and how his only regret about that tragic night with Megan Thee Stallion was hopping out of the pool with Kylie (I’m sure this negro has way more regrets than that).
Since this track is DDG’s, people will probably try to dismiss it… but not me—I think this s**t is fire. Both DDG and Tory Lanez come through with incredible flows and solid punchlines. Tory, in particular, went absolutely bonkers. I’m still in awe, honestly.
They should free Tory simply based on this verse he just dropped. Hip-hop needs this dude.
