RGM REVIEW

The late, great DMX has several posthumous projects being released in his honor. The New Yorker was known for his intense, hardcore rap style and authentic street knowledge. He drew heavily from his life experiences, hardships, and troubling childhood to fuel his music career.

“Let Us Pray: Chapter X” is a faith-inspired album that blends gospel and hip-hop, featuring several artists to bring this vision to life. I will say this album is not for everyone. Sonically and lyrically, it’s a hard-hitting record that focuses more on gratitude for our Creator than on singing or dancing along. For those who share the faith, it’s an inspiring listen, but for others, it may be an uncomfortable or challenging experience that pushes emotional and personal boundaries. If you’re drawn to thought-provoking and powerful messaging, this album is for you. Tracks 5 through 8 offer instrumental versions of the first four tracks, providing a classical feel that complements the album’s dramatic and triumphant tone.
