Megan Thee Stallion Granted Protection Order Extended Through 2030

A compelling case, according to the judge.

“I feel like maybe he’ll shoot me again, and this time I might not make it,” Megan Pete, famously known as Megan Thee Stallion, testified in court as she sought an extended protection order against Tory Lanez, whose legal name is Daystar Peterson.

The rapper alleges that Lanez has been using intermediaries to harass her despite serving a 10-year prison sentence for shooting her in the feet in 2023. While Lanez’s attorney argued there is “no current or future threat” to Megan, call logs from the California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi suggest otherwise, reportedly showing Lanez orchestrating efforts to discredit Megan, including spreading false claims about missing gun and bullet fragment evidence in the case.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Richard Bloom approved Megan Thee Stallion’s request, granting her a protective order against Tory Lanez until January 9, 2030. According to court documents, the order is based on “unlawful violence, a credible threat of violence, or stalking.”
