LiAngelo Ball has secured the bag.
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but LiAngelo Ball might have just dropped the song of the year with “Tweaker.” Not only is it dominating streaming platforms with crazy numbers, but it’s also become a viral sensation, referenced all over social media by just about everyone.
Today, it was officially confirmed that LiAngelo Ball has signed an $8 million deal with Def Jam, riding the massive success of his breakout single. Speculated earlier on The Breakfast Club, the news was later confirmed by NBA insider Shams Charania.

I’m genuinely happy for LiAngelo Ball. After going undrafted and working hard to build an NBA career, he seems to have shifted his focus to music—a move some might argue suits him even better. That said, I’ve always felt the second single is critical for proving staying power. For example, after 50 Cent dropped “Wanksta,” he followed up with “In Da Club,” which was an even bigger smash.
LiAngelo’s next track needs to make an impact, and honestly, I’m not sure if it will. What do you think—does LiAngelo Ball deserve the $8 million deal he landed with Def Jam? Share your thoughts in the comments!
