Austin Coven Drops Single “Rubbing Alcohol”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

I had this song on for maybe 10 seconds before bursting into giggles.

And I mean that in the best way possible. You know those giddy, excited giggles you get when you’re pleasantly surprised? Yeah, this was one of those moments.

Austin Coven dropped his new single, “Rubbing Alcohol,” on January 17th, and it has such a unique style. The track leans heavily into hyperpop or bubblegum bass influences, with grungy, alternative undertones. It’s a fun, club-like beat with a darker, slightly eerie edge that I really enjoyed.

Austin Coven’s voice is incredibly sensual on the song, adding a sense of yearning that makes you hang on to and believe every word he’s singing. He uses autotune intentionally and audibly, but it enhances the genre’s vibe rather than making the track feel overproduced.

Overall, this song made me want to jump around and sing at the top of my lungs. It’s edgy and different, and I would absolutely blast it in my car late at night.
