Latto & Playboi Carti Link Up For “Blick Sum (Remix)”

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

Playboi Carti fits this track like OJ’s glove before it got dried 87 times.

Under everyone’s nose (including mine), Latto dropped one of the most critically acclaimed albums of the year, Sugar Honey Iced Tea. Though I didn’t quite love it, so many people did—and that’s all that matters. The stacked tracklist, featuring tracks like “Brokey” and “Look What You Did,” resonated deeply with listeners. One track that got some love but not nearly enough of it was “Blick Sum.” Well, it should finally get the recognition it deserves now that Playboi Carti has hopped on the remix.

Before we start praising Playboi Carti for flipping this track on its head in a good way, let’s give credit where it’s due—to Latto. Backed by a bass-heavy, action-packed beat that could intimidate most, Latto is unfazed, delivering sharp raps that confirm she only keeps hitters around her. As for Carti, he jumps in with his signature “nerd who’s carrying a bunch of textbooks and stumbling” voice, rapping about his flashy chains, trying to score layups, and how he likes to dress up his blicks. Honestly, I really like his part—it adds a well-needed dynamic flair to an already solid track.

Atlanta really does have like three sides, ’cause ain’t no way Playboi and Latto are from the same city.
