Jessie Reyez Does It Huge In “GOLIATH”

Rating: 5 out of 5.

I wish I had extra fives to give this track.

I’m usually open-minded when it comes to music, but let me be completely honest—if you don’t recognize Jessie Reyez as a generational talent, I don’t know what to tell you! Seriously, Jessie has a voice that can move mountains, an incredible ear for music, and a quirky personality that makes her even more captivating. Last year, she blessed us with tracks like “JEANS” with Miguel and “RIDIN” with Lil Wayne, both of which I absolutely loved. Today, she’s back with a new single, “GOLIATH,” featuring none other than herself.

“GOLIATH” carries a beautifully nostalgic, old-school hip-hop vibe. It gives me the same energy as some of the tracks Kanye West produced for Teyana Taylor on her K.T.S.E. album, particularly “Issues/Hold On.” In this song, Jessie showers her partner with appreciation, expressing how much their love means to her and how deeply she wants to hold on to them. Her raw vulnerability and pure joy shine through every note, making this a track you won’t want to miss.

Whoever booked Jessie, God bless you!
