Gucci Mane Says He Doesn’t Have A “Preference”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Gucci Mane is the type of guy who goes to strip clubs on Valentine’s Day.

Gucci Mane celebrated his 45th birthday on Wednesday, and that’s significant for one main reason: he seems to be getting healthier as he gets older. Not only has he lost that signature wock belly he used to have, but he also appears to be in a better place mentally.

The one unfortunate thing about this new version of Gucci is that he doesn’t release music as often. I’m used to hearing five mixtapes from him a year, but these days, we’re lucky if we get a single every four months. Yesterday, the Atlanta legend returned to the music scene with a new track called “Preference,” and it sounds like some vintage s**t.

In “Preference,” Gucci Mane makes it clear: he doesn’t discriminate when it comes to making money—he’ll take 10s, 20s, or 30s. And when it comes to women, he doesn’t mind if they’re DEI hires or not. As expected, the track boasts strong trap roots, a high-octane beat, a catchy-ass, formulaic hook, verses with a consistent flow, and bars that hit every single time. Gucci is back, y’all!

Anybody who says they don’t have a preference definitely has a preference. Stay woke, people.
