Muni Long Released her newest single, “Slow Grind,” on February 13th

“Slow Grind” was dropped a day before Valentine’s Day, and it is sensual and sugary sweet. The new track gives me that classic late ’90s, early 2000s R&B feel. There’s a heavy, bumping percussion that reminds me of a heartbeat, along with slow, steamy synths and instrumentals designed to get you in the mood. Muni Long belts out her lyrics passionately, and her soulful voice and beautiful runs add to the sensuality of the single.

The song is about exactly what you expect it to be. It covers themes of romance and lust without being too lewd or graphic. The lyrics are uncomplicated and memorable, and I was humming along to the tune before the song was even over. “Slow Grind” is a perfect track to listen to with a partner and would be a great fit for a secret makeout playlist.
