Coco Jones dropped her new single “Taste” on February 21st, and I’m kind of obsessed with it. The track samples Brittany Spear’s “Toxic” and put a steamy R&B twist on it. Coco Jones has a beautiful, soulful voice and she uses these crazy runs throughout the song that showcase her skillset well.
“Taste” is about wanting someone that you know is probably not the best for you. The lyrics are seductive, talking about addiction and obsession. Coco jones is longing for even just the smallest kiss or touch from the person she is singing about, and they are the only one on her mind. She talks about chasing the rush of the feelings this person gives her, even if she knows it’s not the healthiest thing for her to do.
The track is fun, catchy and even a little sensual and sexy. It is a feel-good single that leaves you giggling and singing along.
