Wow, what a very interesting thing to suggest.
Only a handful of R&B artists have the power to truly mesmerize me—artists whose music seeps into the soul with haunting beauty. Names like Giveon and Sampha come to mind, and now, I’m adding Caleb Awiti to that list. The Vancouver-based singer-songwriter has an uncanny ability to craft deeply moving music, effortlessly blending R&B and Afropop while delivering lyrically rich, emotionally raw performances.
On Friday, Caleb released his latest project, Love Letters III, a collection of songs that showcase his artistic depth. One of its standout tracks, “i wish i met your therapist,” is nothing short of breathtaking.
Awiti pours his heart out in this emotionally charged ballad, written about someone who “felt like his entire world” and made him see the “simplicity of love.” The song is a delicate yet powerful reflection on late-night texts, passionate kisses, and unforgettable moments that transcend time. Backed by a dramatic, slow-tempo instrumental, his passionate, intoxicating vocals bring the lyrics to life, reminding us how we often overcomplicate something as pure as love.
Simply put, “i wish i met your therapist” is an experience. There’s no way you’ll finish this track without feeling deeply moved.
