The Weeknd surprised us with a “Timeless” Remix.

On May 9th, The Weeknd dropped a remix of his track “Timeless,” bringing in unexpected energy with features from Playboi Carti and Doechii.

I already loved the original “Timeless” when it first released, so I wasn’t expecting a remix—let alone one that feels this fresh. What really caught me off guard was Doechii opening the track. She takes the first verse and instantly shifts the entire mood. This isn’t just a remix—it’s a transformation.

Doechii delivers bars with her usual confidence, but her flow here is lighter, more fluid, and less aggressive than I’ve come to expect from her. It’s a surprising shift, but it works. Her verse feels like an extension of the song’s universe, not a tacked-on feature. The remix doesn’t just rehash the original—it reimagines it.

It’s always interesting when a remix manages to feel like its own experience, and this one definitely does.
