42 Dugg Sounds Like a No Limit Soldier on “We Not Done”

Even though 42 Dugg is short as hell, he stomps on s**t in his music.

42 Dugg is one of those rappers whose sound is hard to pin down geographically. Sometimes, he channels Atlanta energy—likely a product of the time he’s spent there—while other moments scream unapologetic Detroit grit. But in “We Not Done,” his latest single, Dugg taps into something different altogether: straight-up New Orleans, No Limit vibes. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if the music video features tanks and camo fits.

The production feels like it was made for a full-blown military parade—like the one Trump once floated as an idea—with booming drums and that militant, grimy bounce that demands attention. Over this beat, Dugg delivers cold-hearted bars with a rugged cadence, rapping about big guns, stomping enemies, and stacking money with no remorse.

But what really sells this track is the infectious delivery. Dugg’s flow is built to chant along with, especially the hook—it has that “hood high school musical” quality where you could imagine a whole crew yelling it out in sync. Whether it’s the energy, the vibe, or the cadence, “We Not Done” leaves a lasting impression.
