DMX & Joyner Lucas Link for “Bring Out The Worst”

DMX is still pumping out hits from the grave.

You know what brings me the biggest smile? Hearing New Yorkers blast “Ruff Ryders Anthem” to celebrate a Knicks win. There’s just something perfect about it. For the jits who might not know: that iconic track was made by DMX, a legend who will forever be a staple in New York City. He probably never got the appreciation he truly deserved, largely because he wasn’t one for the glitz or spotlight. But these days, people are giving him his flowers—loudly—and his estate is keeping his legacy alive by steadily releasing posthumous singles and projects.

The latest? A gritty new track called “Bring Out The Worst” featuring none other than Joyner Lucas.

Let me just say this: I could easily see DMX and Joyner linking up back in the ‘90s. Both have that raw, no-finesse-needed energy. On “Bring Out The Worst,” their styles blend surprisingly well. The production is dark, energetic, and packed with adrenaline—just the kind of beat you’d want for a track about revenge, chaos, and holding your own in the trenches. DMX’s flow might sound a bit off at times (understandable given the posthumous nature), but his ferocity? Still All-NBA level. He’s talking machetes, guns, and all kinds of smoke for his enemies.

Joyner Lucas comes in just as aggressive, riding the beat with intensity and dropping clever lines about his bankroll and his short temper. He sounds like someone who wants all the smoke. Together, they sound like two guys who could comfortably handle a 20-on-1 scenario without breaking a sweat.

DMX’s music scares the hell out of me.
