Logic has been acting like a troubled youth lately.
Since announcing his retirement, Logic has embraced unpredictability—and honestly, it suits him. While he’s continued dropping the boom bap tracks longtime fans love, he’s also veered into psychedelic and experimental territory with a few surprise bangers earlier this year. Now, with his comedy film Paradise Records set to debut at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 6th, Logic is shifting gears again—this time with a genre-blending new single called “Bad Motherfucker.”
The track is a bold mashup of styles. Backed by an alt-rock, coming-of-age style beat that feels straight out of an indie teen movie, Logic mixes aggressive rap bars with Kid Cudi-esque humming and singing, showcasing his comfort with genre fluidity.
Lyrically, Logic dives into familiar themes—loyalty, reckless youth, and a turbulent upbringing—but presents them with a fresh sonic twist that fits the vibe of a film soundtrack. It’s experimental, but intentional.
Logic dropping a movie like this is very dope. Kudos to him.
