Lil Wayne Calls On Nicki Minaj For “Banned From NO (Remix)”

Nicki Minaj big-boys folks in this track.

Let’s be real—Tha Carter VI didn’t give us many standouts. But if there’s one track that taps into that raw, vintage Wayne energy, it’s “Banned From NO.” It’s gritty, relentless, and sounds like Wayne dusted off his mixtape bag and went to war with the beat.

Now, enter Nicki Minaj—and things get even crazier.

On the remix, Nicki goes off. She opens with some melodic singing, then launches into a fiery verse. She sounds cocky, competitive, and clearly raps like she has something to prove (even though she doesn’t). Her verse touches on everything from the money she’s stacking, to the hoes that can’t touch her, to a Jay-Z slight involving the whole stupid Super Bowl halftime performance controversy from last year.

And of course, she sneaks in a hilarious callback to Lil Wayne’s iconic line by declaring: “The F in Weezy stands for Phenomenal.” (We seriously need to stop telling our kids this.)

In short, Nicki completely takes over the remix.

I feel like Nicki Minaj only comes back out to diss folks these days. I want a better ending to her career than this.
