Dammit, I knew I was going to like these “BULLY” tracks.
A few hours after Pascal Siakam nearly took Jalen Williams’ soul at the rim, Kanye West quietly dropped three new tracks from his upcoming BULLY album. While the rollout didn’t break the internet—likely due to the public still recovering from Ye’s recent string of controversial rants—those who chose to press play were treated to high-quality music. I already covered “PREACHER MAN,” which channeled vintage Kanye. Another standout from the batch? “BEAUTY AND THE BEAST.”
The first thing that comes to my mind while listening to this track is the servants from The Shining. With a gentle, see-saw-like instrumental that oozes ‘50s elegance, Ye embraces his inner crooner. He delivers a soft, emotionally aware performance about the challenge of suppressing lingering feelings while working through personal transformation. It’s not a track you’d bump in your car, but it’s undoubtedly heartfelt, deliberate, and layered in artistic intention. This is Kanye flexing soul, not ego—and it works beautifully.
I actually really like it when Kanye West sings.
