Kendrick Lamar’s “GNX” Breaks Rap Chart Record

Go ahead and say it… “GNX” is the greatest rap album of all time.

I’ll be the first to admit it: GNX didn’t completely grab me on first listen. It took time—multiple spins, a few cultural moments, and maybe a little public pressure—for the album to really click. But now? I’m bumping tracks like “Squabble Up” regularly and humbly wiping the egg off my face.

While it may have taken me a while to get fully on board, the culture was all in from day one. GNX had a massive Billboard 200 debut and has remained a fixture in the top 10 for months. And now, the album has just shattered another record—this time, on the Billboard Rap Chart.

According to Daily Rap Facts, Kendrick Lamar’s GNX has officially become the longest-running No. 1 rap album in Billboard history, clocking 22 weeks in the top spot. This breaks the previous record held by Pop Smoke’s Shoot For The Stars Aim For The Moon.

With this new milestone, Kendrick continues to prove that not only is he a lyrical heavyweight, but also a chart-dominating force. The album has evolved from a challenging listen to a cultural landmark—and one thing’s for sure: Kendrick Lamar hasn’t taken an L in like 14 months.
