JID Unleashes New Track “BEAU” Ahead of Upcoming Project “PRELUXE”

JID is about to overfeed us, y’all.

JID is officially claiming the summer as his own, with the announcement that his highly-anticipated album God Does Like Ugly will drop on August 8th—an album that just might f**k around and be a classic—and before it arrives, he’s serving up GDLU: Preluxe on July 4th, a teaser project that might feature tracks like the fiery “32 (Freestyle)” and the newly released “BEAU.”

“BEAU” is a masterclass in unpredictability and lyrical finesse. Built on eerie, minimalistic production, the track creates a haunting atmosphere that JID fully leans into. His voice is occasionally distorted to sound deeper, adding a surreal edge, while his flows shift on a dime—from slow and thoughtful to rapid and relentless. Throughout the song, JID reflects on his past days of mobbing, his focus on staying real for his fans, and his relentless drive to make money and gain international recognition. His punchlines are razor-sharp, with clever references to The Weeknd and Bernie Madoff, and a late beat switch amplifies their impact even more. Altogether, “BEAU” doesn’t just flex JID’s lyrical prowess—it reminds us why he’s one of the most technically gifted and creatively daring rappers in the game today.

JID has to have brain mush. He’s overworking it.
