Metro Boomin Drops New Track “Slide” with Roscoe Dash

We’re getting a new Metro Boomin album soon? What the Hali?

Metro Boomin is back — and stranger than ever. Following a surprise Instagram announcement teasing a new album arriving this July, the hitmaking superproducer just dropped a new single titled “Slide,” featuring a throwback collaborator: Roscoe Dash.

“Slide” is an intriguing clash of moods: dark and brooding in tone, yet built for the dancefloor. The track rides a hypnotic tempo, gritty 808s, and that unmistakable Metro polish — though its slightly raw edges give it a refreshingly human feel. At just over four minutes, the song may overstay its welcome for some, but there’s no denying its sonic richness.

Roscoe Dash reemerges with his trademark melodic rap-singing flow, gliding through verses with ease and turning introspective on the chorus. He’s backed by a dramatic choir, adding unexpected weight to a song that centers around being emotionally tangled with a woman he can’t resist. At times chill, at times chaotic, Dash even goes back and forth with said woman mid-track, injecting a raw, conversational energy that makes the record feel like a late-night FaceTime between two people who should probably block each other—but won’t.

“Slide” may not be for everyone, but it’s proof that Metro is willing to experiment, letting go of perfection in favor of personality.
