Clipse Reveal Kendrick Lamar Was Originally Meant for “So Be It”

Kendrick Lamar had every level of smoke ready, including carbon monoxide.

Clipse’s rollout for Let God Sort Em Out featured controversy galore, and they are back with more. In a recent interview, Pusha T and Malice revealed that Kendrick Lamar was originally set to appear on “So Be It,” the ferocious track widely seen as a diss aimed at Travis Scott. The song, already dripping with lyrical venom, could’ve reached even more seismic levels had Kendrick jumped in, especially considering his own history of surgical takedowns.

This revelation comes just as Let God Sort Em Out topped the U.S. iTunes charts, solidifying Clipse’s place back at the top of the hip-hop conversation. Pharrell’s eerie, cinematic production sets the tone throughout the album, giving the brothers a backdrop to drop sharp, unfiltered bars with war-ready precision. Alongside Clipse, standouts like Tyler, The Creator and Stove God Cooks add serious weight, but it’s Kendrick’s guest verse on the explosive “Chains and Whips” that might be the best on the entire project. Just imagine if he brought that same fire to the even darker “So Be It.”

Whatever the case may be, I’m just glad Clipse rolled back that stupid “So Be It II.” The beat attached to that version stinks.

I like it when Lil Yachty raps like he doesn't give a single f**k.
I'm slowly waiting for Tyla to morph into Rihanna.
